GetResponse review - one tool for the whole funnel, watch the tier jumps
GetResponse bundles email, automation, landing pages and webinars under one bill. Strong for a small business that wants one login - but the $19 price is a mirage and the contact-tier jumps bite.
- Category:
- Email & CRM
- Pricing:
- Starter $19/mo, Marketer $59/mo, Creator $69/mo (all at 1,000 contacts, ~18% off annually). Real automation needs Marketer. Contact tiers jump hard: Marketer goes $139 to $299/mo crossing from 10k to 25k contacts

Want one tool for the whole funnel instead of a stack of five? GetResponse is the honest all-rounder: email, automation, landing pages, webinars, and simple funnels under one login. For an owner-operator who values one bill over best-in-class in every box, it earns its keep. Just do not trust the sticker price.
Who it is for
Small businesses and solo operators who would rather run one platform than wire together Mailchimp, a landing-page builder, and a webinar tool. The breadth is the point.
The real pricing math
The advertised $19 Starter is a mirage for most people, because Starter only gives you basic autoresponders. The moment you want real marketing automation - conditional logic, event triggers, contact scoring - you are on Marketer at $59/mo. Webinars push you to Creator at $69. Annual billing takes roughly 18% off. So budget $59, not $19, if you bought this for automation.
What they donβt tell you
The contact tiers jump in cliffs, not slopes. On Marketer, crossing from 10,000 to 25,000 contacts takes your bill from $139 to $299 a month - one contact over the line, and you are paying for the whole next bracket. Worse, duplicates and inactive subscribers count toward that number, and GetResponse auto-upgrades you when you cross it. Operators have hit a tier jump they never saw coming because a list they thought was 5,000 was really 6,500 of dupes and dead addresses.
The defense is boring and non-negotiable: dedupe and prune before you approach any threshold, and watch the contact count like a bill, because it is one.
Who should skip it
Power users of any single feature. Each module here is good, not best-in-class - the webinar tool is lighter than a dedicated one, the automation lighter than ActiveCampaign. If one capability is your whole business, buy the specialist.
Bottom line
A genuinely strong all-in-one for a small business that wants one dashboard and one invoice. Price it at the Marketer tier, keep your list clean so the contact cliffs do not ambush you, and it is one of the better-value ways to run a whole funnel from one place. Its affiliate program is also among the most generous in the category (recurring commission scaling from 40% toward 60%, 90-day cookie), which is exactly why you see it recommended everywhere - worth knowing when you read other reviews, including where we place an affiliate link.
